Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions

The fine print, made simple.

How our website plans, billing, cancellations and content services work, without the legal headache.

Last updated 3 October 2026

The short version

  • Cancel your plan anytime, no long contract
  • Your .co.za domain is registered in your name, and it stays yours
  • Your monthly fee halves after 12 months
  • Want to keep your website? Buy it out once you’ve paid 12 months

These Terms and Conditions apply when you buy a website plan, order content (such as videos or images), or request a free homepage preview from Wonder Studio. Please read them before you order. By ticking the box at checkout, you confirm that you have read and agree to them.

01About us

Wonder Studio (registered name: WONDER STUDIO, enterprise number 2026/619329/07) is owned and run by Robin Elliott.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Wonder Studio, and “you” means the person or business ordering from us. You confirm that you are at least 18 years old and, if you order for a business, that you are allowed to act on its behalf.

02Website plans

Our website plans are monthly subscriptions. Every plan includes:

  • Design and build of your website
  • A .co.za domain name, registered in your name
  • Hosting and a business email address
  • A logo, if you don’t already have one
  • Basic maintenance and revisions (see section 4)

The plans are:

  • Starter: R199 per month, up to 3 pages, basic on-page SEO
  • Business: R399 per month, up to 10 pages plus a blog, basic SEO, Google Analytics and Search Console, and Google Business Profile setup
  • Store: R599 per month, full-feature online store, full basic SEO and Google Business Profile setup

Creating content for you (for example photos, videos or written copy) is not included in the plans and can be ordered separately.

03How it works and timelines

  • After you order, you complete a short website questionnaire.
  • We review your answers and get back to you within one business day.
  • We send you a mockup of your design to approve or request changes.
  • Once you approve the mockup, we design and build your full website and launch it once you give the final go-ahead.

Concept guarantee. We send you a mockup before we build. If you are not happy with the concept, tell us before you approve the mockup and we will refund your first payment in full and cancel your plan. We pay the refund back to your original payment method within 7 business days. This guarantee applies to new website plans paid monthly.

Our estimated build times start once we have received all the content we need from you (such as your text, images and logo), not from the date you order: Starter 3 to 4 business days, Business 5 to 7 and Store 10 to 14. These are estimates, and delays in receiving your content or feedback will extend them.

On the Starter plan, you need to supply your own images and photos.

You are responsible for making sure the information and material you give us is accurate and that you have the right to use it (for example, that you own or have permission to use your photos, logos and text).

04Revisions, maintenance and extra work

Each website plan includes 2 rounds of revisions and basic maintenance, such as small text or image updates and keeping your website running. Plans do not include unlimited support or new features.

Work beyond this, such as further revision rounds, new pages or bigger changes, is charged at R600 per hour, calculated pro rata for the time spent. We will tell you before we start any paid extra work.

05Billing and payments

  • Your first payment is made through our payment provider, Payfast, by card, Instant EFT or another method Payfast offers. Payfast processes the payment and we never see or store your card details.
  • We do not store your card and we do not charge you automatically. After your first payment we email you an invoice each month, which you pay if you want your plan to continue.
  • Your first payment covers the rest of the current month. If fewer than 7 days are left in the month, or the amount for those days would be below PayFast’s R5 minimum, your first payment also includes the following full month.
  • After that, we invoice you on the 1st of every month at your normal monthly fee.
  • After your first 12 months, your monthly fee halves (Starter R100, Business R200, Store R300), as it then covers hosting and maintenance only.
  • There is no setup fee on any website plan.
  • All prices are in South African rand and are the total amount you pay.
  • If an invoice is not paid, we will let you know before your website is affected. If your account remains unpaid after a short grace period, we may take your website offline until payment is received.
  • We may change our prices for future months. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email, and you may cancel before the new price applies.

06Cancelling your plan

You can cancel your website plan at any time from your account or by contacting us. Cancelling stops all future payments.

  • You keep your domain name. After you cancel, renewing and managing it becomes your responsibility, and we will help you move it to a provider of your choice.
  • You lose the website itself, unless you have completed the buyout described in section 7. Your website will be taken offline at the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Monthly fees already paid are not refundable, except under our concept guarantee (see section 3) or where the law requires it (see section 8).

07Keeping your website (buyout)

If you cancel but want to keep your website, you can buy it out by bringing your total payments up to 12 months of your plan’s full monthly fee. You can pay the balance monthly or as a once-off amount.

Once the buyout is complete, we give you a backup copy of your website so you can host it elsewhere. From then on, hosting, maintenance and any costs for these are your responsibility.

If your total payments already equal or exceed 12 months of your plan’s full monthly fee (for example, after 12 months at the full price plus 6 months at the reduced price), no further buyout payment is due.

08Cooling-off period

Under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you may cancel an online order within 7 days of placing it, without giving a reason, and receive a refund of what you paid, less any direct costs the law allows us to deduct.

If you ask us to start work during these 7 days, for example by submitting your website questionnaire, you agree that we may begin, and, to the extent the law allows, the cooling-off right will not apply to the work already started.

09Ownership

  • You keep full ownership of the content you give us, such as your text, photos and existing logo.
  • A logo we create for you as part of your plan is yours to use for your business.
  • The design and code of your website remain ours while you are on a plan. You receive them once a buyout is complete (section 7).
  • We may show the work we create for you in our portfolio and marketing, unless you ask us not to.

10Content services (videos, images and ads)

  • Content work is quoted per job, from R200 per 30-second video clip, depending on complexity.
  • Full payment is required upfront before we start.
  • We aim to deliver within 48 hours of receiving payment and your brief, unless we agree on a different timeline.
  • Each job includes 2 free rounds of revisions. Further revisions cost R99 each.
  • Once delivered and paid for, you may use the final content for your business.

11Free homepage preview

The free homepage preview is offered at no cost and with no obligation to buy. We offer a limited number of previews each week and aim to send them on WhatsApp within 24 hours, excluding weekends. The preview design remains ours unless you choose a plan.

12Acceptable use

You may not use your website or email to publish or send anything illegal, harmful, misleading, infringing or abusive, or to send spam or malware. We may suspend a website that breaks this rule or the law, and we will tell you why.

13Availability and results

We take reasonable care to keep your website online, secure and backed up, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not responsible for outages caused by third parties such as hosting providers, payment providers or domain registries.

We cannot guarantee specific results, such as search rankings, website traffic, leads or sales.

14Our liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act where they apply to you.

15Privacy

We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

16Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies to new orders. If we make an important change that affects your existing plan, we will let you know by email.

17Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at info@wonderstudio.co.za or on 078 316 3270 and we will do our best to resolve it quickly.
